ITT student awarded “Academician of the year: Women with Vision 2018”

The ITT is happy to see its Ph.D. candidate Amrita Gautam being awarded as “Academician of the year – Women with Vision 2018”. 

Congratulations, Amrita!

To give you an insight into Amrita’s research we asked her two questions:

Amrita, you are a Ph.D. candidate in the university cooperation of TH Köln (University of Applied Sciences Köln), the University of Cologne (UzK) and the Institute of Engineering (IOE), Nepal. As such, what is your research focus?

My research focus is towards HydroInformatics: Water Supply Engineering, Water Quality Monitoring and Modeling. The case study area for my ongoing doctoral research is Pokhara Metropolitan City, Kaski District, Nepal.

You have been awarded “Academicaion of the year – Woman With Vision 2018”. What exactly is the Award about?

During a first nomination round of the award – Women With Vision – the 100 most influential women of Nepal 2018 were shortlisted in the beginning of the year. Those were selected from local to regional and international ground from Nepalese origin that are doing some remarkable works in their field including the positive impacts to society and those women who have been a source of inspiration to many other young generations. Finally, top 10 Women are declared winners in 10 different categories. And I was very happy to receive the title “Academician of the year – Women With Vision 2018” in the award ceremony at Royal Empire Boutique Hotel in Nepal a couple of month ago.
