ITT’s supporting association “Verein der Freunde und Förderer – ITT”

The supporting association of ITT „Verein der Freunde und Förderer des Instituts für Technologie- und Ressourcenmanagement in den Tropen und Subtropen der Technischen Hochschule Köln“ (VdF-ITT) is a non-profit organization. Its mission is to support the development of teaching, research and training at the ITT and to foster the close linkage between academia and the private sector.

With the donations of its members the VdF-ITT supports mainly

–          Practice-oriented teaching
–          Research-Activities
–          Conferences and workshops
–          Academic Awards
–          Members of VDf-ITT in a financial distress

In the past years for instance,  the VdF-ITT has donated the prize money for the annual award of the two best master theses at the ITT.

The VdF-ITT was founded in 1998 by the former rector of the TH Köln, co-founder of the ITT and the study program ” Technology in the Tropics” , Prof. Dr. Ehrhard E. Schilling , together with the former Executive Director of the ITT , Prof. Prof. h.c. Dr. Hartmut Gaese. The association management currently consists of Prof. Prof. h.c. Dr. Hartmut Gaese (chairman), Prof. Dr. Lars Ribbe (executive director of the ITT), Dr. Udo Nehren (secretary), and Ricarda Bruder-Pedroso (treasurer).

We want to encourage anybody to join  the ITT-VdF as a member, so that we can continue to support our students and graduates in their education and research activities. Members receive regular information about ongoing activities and are welcome to actively participate in the association. For more information, please turn to Ricarda Bruder Pedroso.
