Short Bio
Ute Dreiocker (Climate Partnership with Rio de Janeiro) works for the Cologne City administration since 1988. Since 2017 she is part of the team „European and International Affairs“ which is a department within the Mayor’s office. She is in charge of the sister city relationships of Cologne with Istanbul, Beijing and Rio de Janeiro and the LGBTIQ-exchange with Cologne‘s sister cities. Besides being sister cities, Cologne and Rio de Janeiro also have a climate partnership. Within this Ute Dreiocker is the coordinator on Cologne side.

Aldo Perez Rodarte (Climate Partnership with Yarincocha, Peru) holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Institute of Technology and higher Education of Monterrey, Mexico. From 2008-11, he worked for the state-owned oil company PEMEX. In 2011, he co-founded Kin Energy a business dedicated to small renewable energy installations in Mexico. In the same year he left both companies and immigrated to Germany to start a M.Sc. in Renewable Energy (2011-2013) at Oldenburg University. After graduating he worked from 2014 to 2017 as a researcher at the TH Köln where he worked for the EU project Celsius. Since 2017, he works at the environmental protection coordination of the City of Cologne where he is resposible of the energy planing strategy measure and he is also the coordinator of the Municipal Climate Cooperation between the City of Cologne and Yarinacocha (Peru). His PhD, which he conducts at the University of Lleida, Spain, looks at smart heating systems.

Vera Minnik (Climate Partnership with Corinto, Nicaragua) Midwife and Master in International Public Health. Work in Nicaragua 1982 – 1989, two years in Corinto. Co-initiator partnership Cologne – Corinto/ El Realejo more than 30 years ago.1989 co-founder Kölner Geburtshaus. Since 2003 project manager in various developing countries (Afghanistan, Angola/ Namibia, Cambodia). Since return from Cambodia and retirement member of the managing board of the Cologne Corinto association responsible for finances.
