Training Course on: “Geo-Information Systems & Remote Sensing for Sustainable Urban Management”

For the second time students from the King Abdulaziz University (KAU) – Jeddah, Saudi Arabia were guests at the ITT at Cologne University of Applied Sciences. Following a request by Prof. Dr. Hisham Gadou, Professor for Remote Sensing & GIS for Urban Planning & Design at KAU, the  two universities jointly developed a four weeks training course on Geo-Information Systems & Remote Sensing for Sustainable Urban Management. The 16 students from the Urban Planning and Design department at KAU received a comprehensive tailor made course composed of key lectures, exercises and group works and thematic excursions. The students got familiar with utilising GIS for flood protection and urban planning processes and concepts of sustainable (urban) planning. Besides that the students expressed their interest in the international master programs at CUAS and possibilities to study in Cologne.
